We at AKASAKATEC started our company by bringing GPS and normalising the technology in Japan during the dawn of the Global Positioning System Era through the selling of GPS systems to the wider public.

As technology grows and continues to evolve, the size of GPS modules have shrunk enough to where it is now installed in every smart device imaginable. It is hard to imagine that when we started our company, GPS smallest single face area was no smaller than 50 c㎡.

For over 30 years, we have continuously developed and improved our systems, softwares, hardwares and overall business in parallel to the ever advancing GPS Landscape. Utilising our expertise in GPS and combining it with bleeding edge ICT and Cloud Technologies to bring to fruition innovative and original systems for our customers.

We embrace the ever changing landscape of the modern world we live in today and brave the unknown that lay before us. To not be afraid of failure and to seek challenges, bringing new value from what we learn and develop industry changing technologies for our customers.

APR 1985	Started development and sales of GPS system for the first time in Japan as a project team of Akasaka Diesels Limited

Company Environmental Policy

Environmental Policy

We at AKT voluntarily created an in house environmental policy to protect the natural environment while conducting our business.

1	Develop a rigid environmental management system, follow and maintain the system once implemented.
2	Minimise impact on the environment, directly or indirectly by setting targets and conducting thorough investigations. The following are policies we abide by during work.
	a. Reduce electricity usage and fuel usage in cars to reduce CO2 Output b. Reduce paper and waste, properly recycle items c. Conserve water wherever possible d. Purchase green and ethical products if available e. Develop systems and products that promote positive impact on the environment
3	Conduct regular in house inspection, continuously maintain and improve existing management systems.
4	Comply to environmental rules and regulations set by governing bodies
5	Follow the company environmental policy book and be conscious of the environmental impact a project will have.

Local Activities

Region Coexistence, Yokohama Region Revitalisation

As AKT is based in Yokohama, We have been focusing our attention on revitalising the area surrounding us through partnership with Yokohama City, Kanazawa District and local businesses.

We aim to be an essential business for the community by coexisting and actively contributing to the community. That is what we believe “Region Coexisting” means.

Aiming for a local production, local consumption business

As globalisation takes the world by storm, many child companies that are distant from a parent company would break away and become an independent company. Over 30 years ago, we took a leap of faith and broke away from our parent company. We brave through the initial storm, we faced trouble head on and the pounding waves shaped our company to what it is now.

In small agricultural communities, you often hear the phrase “grown by the local for the local” or to simply put it, being self-sufficient, where everything the community grew would be consumed by those in the community. Revitalising local industries would decrease reliance on external sources and would have an immeasurable positive impact on the community.

We at AKT support the idea of self-sufficiency and would utilise our expertise in ICT and IoT by providing consultations and tools needed to help revitalise local industries and decrease external reliance. As such, we have partnered with many businesses throughout Japan.
